Meet #6: AWAY – Kings Charter Tidal Waves vs Ashcreek Crocs, Tuesday, July 18

The Kings Charter Tidal Waves will face the Ashcreek Crocs for our sixth and final swim meet of the regular season on Tuesday, July 18th. The meet will start at 6:00pm and families can enter the pool deck no earlier than 4:30pm. The make-up date is Wednesday, July 19th. This will be Ashcreek’s Senior Night so some times have been adjusted to allow time to honor their Seniors and still start the meet at 6pm.

Location: 10854 Linderwood Dr., Mechanicsville, VA 23116

Attendance: Please remember to declare for the meet by indicating if your swimmer will attend. You should have already received an email that the meet is accepting entries. You can indicate your attendance by clicking “attending” or “not attending” for the Meet on the “View Meets” tab in the Parent Portal.

Parking: Kings Charter is welcome to park in the main parking lot. If additional parking is required, families may park along the main road as long as they don’t block intersections or driveways.

Seating: Seating for the away team is located on the right side of the pool closest to the parking lot. You may also use half of the awning at the far end. Please bring deck chairs for your use. Be aware that the clubhouse and playground area are off limits during the swim meet.

Check‐In: Check-in no earlier than 4:30 pm. Check-in must be completed by 5:00 pm. A table will be set up outside the pool for your check-in. **Note: This is an earlier check-in deadline than most weeks due to Senior night.

​Warm-ups: Away team will warm up from 5:15-5:35. Ashcreek’s warm-ups will be from 4:50-5:10.

Clerk of the Course: The Clerk of the Course is located to the left of the entrance to the pool. Our community has added an additional gate to our pool, so we will be blocking off Clerk of Course completely. You can use either gated entrance to get to the concessions and deck. Please do not cut through the Clerk area

Concessions: The concessions are located outside of the fence area just past the bathrooms on the left and will be serving food beginning at 5:15 and will continue to sell until approximately 9:00. Our concession will be selling hamburgers, hot dogs, barbecue, snacks, candy and drinks. Kona Ice will be located in the circle drive in front of the clubhouse.

Weather: In the event of inclement weather we may have to exit the pool deck until conditions improve. Lifeguards are trained on and responsible for making a determination when the pool and the pool deck must be closed, prioritizing the safety of all present. If the deck is closed, please support the life guards and help clear the facility promptly. If we have to clear the deck due to the weather, you may wait in your cars. Please ensure you have signed up for Remind to get weather updates. Instructions can be found on our website under the Documents Tab.
**If the meet is stopped at or after 10:30pm the meet WILL be postponed to the rain date. If the 8 & under relays were swum then the 9 & older relays can be swum on the rain date.

Volunteer Reminders:
If you have signed up to volunteer at this meet, please double check which position you are working in your Parent Portal

Start Times:
5:30pm First Half shifts will work from event #1 until event #27
8:00pm (approx.) Second Half shifts will work from event #28 until the end of meet

Check-In:
All volunteers must check-in with Marianne and Jason before 5:30pm, where the swimmers check-in with the coaches. If you are a second half volunteer and unable to check in by 5:30pm, please email kctidalwaves@gmail.com at least 2 hours ahead of time so we will know when to expect you to check-in.

Substitutes:
If you can no longer work the shift you signed up for, you are responsible for finding a substitute. Please reach out to other swim families for help, and notify us of the change at kctidalwaves@gmail.com.
